Hello,

I am new to Eagle and already spen a day with no result. I am looking for a library part which seems inexistent. I need a part equivallent to http://www.futurlec.com/Connectors/PCBT3.shtml. The closest i found is a wago with 5.08mm pitch image

Thanks in advance for your help

With only 3 pins a 5mm part is equivalent to 0.2"

It is part of the learning curve to make your own lib parts.

One of the reasons is you should verify every lib part you use. This

takes about as long as making a part from scratch and you save the time

    looking for the part.

    Hi Guy.

What you need, could that be con-wago-508? The package W237-3E has 5mm from center to center of the pins.

As some guys told you already there is wago...

Generally connectors are in the libraries con-...

At he bottom left of the add dialog you can enter a search string.

If you still can't find a suitable device check @ the cadsoft download

center libraries. Last not least there is a library editor... image

    Thanks Paul

Well, The parts i'll be using are end stackable .2" will fast accumulate to impractical insertion

I will be happy to design my own parts but honestly this seems requiring a very advanced level. Can you point me to a good and correct tutorial for doing this?

    Hi Guy.

I will try to take you a small trip into a new board. Start eagle, then file-new board - find view in top menu - click grid.

Change inch to mm - use only 1.0 and set grid on. Now ADD con-wago-508 and take w237-3E, place it on the grid and count the lines

between two pins. Then you can go back to 1.27mm grid.

And one more. Have you found some good stuff i the installation folder of Eagle, the folder DOC have the manual and tutorial in more

language. They are your helping hand.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Mogens

I did as you said. With the 1mm grid one can see that holes are more than 5 mm apart, with 1.27 it's precisely 4 squares (as far as naked eye can see) so i am not sure what it was that you meant that i discover in this little trip image

Thanks for the advice to consult the Eagle doc folder. Honestly it did not came to my mind and i'll start with it.

... and i have never been to Denmark (except in Andersen's stories) though i'd very much love too.
