Segment and Junction ERC Check Errors and Warnings

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

Suddenly getting a number of "Segment of net X has fallen apart." Errors and "Missing junction in net X" Warnings.

Is this some king of grid resolution issue?  I double click the errors which point out the location of the issues but I can't seem to do anything about it.  The message is not terribley informatinve and it does not give any automated or manual solutions to resolving these.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

P. S. It says "use communities to seperate multiple tags" at the buttom of this page, I think that should read "use commas to sperate multiple tags".

    Hi,

this error wants to tell you that there is a net segment or a label that

was duplicated with the COPY command in an earlier EAGLE version. There

was generated a cloned net wire which is graphically not connected to

the rest of the segment, but for a correct data strucutre there should

have been created a separate segement within the whole net. EAGLE 6.5

checks such situations und reports this.

EAGLE 6.5 now behaves correctly and creates separate segments within a

net as soon as you use the COPY command for copying a net wire or label.

How to 'repair' such a schematic:

    1) Close the board file

    2) Locate the error (Click onto the error message in the Errors window)

    3) delete the net wire

    4) draw the net again and name it correctly

    5) place a label

    6) load your board again and run ERC for consistency check

What are the consequences of me leaving it as it is? I don't have the burning urge to do something like 5 steps for each of the 31 out of 32 signals that I created identically...

(I just counted: it's something like 10 clicks and two "switch-between-keyboard-and-mouse" events per signal to fix... 30 left....).
