How to get my schematic and board layout into a project ?

New user ... very frustrated. I've watched all the YouTube videos etc. I managed to create a schematic that is linked to a board layout. But it isn't in a project. I create a project that says it is empty. How the heck to I get the files in there? When I use Windows explorer, my project doesn't even show up under projects. Edit: Using Eagle PCB software Freebee version.

In viewing some other topics, it looks like I can expect an answer here sometime between 2 and 12 months from now.

It sounds like the default location for the schematic you created is not in the directory you expected.

When you create a new directory it does not automatically change its default working directory, so any previous work will be saved in the previous default.

You can select "Save As" and select the directory where you want the project saved. When you do this, the directory you select bcomes the new default working directory.

When you open a schematic or layout, the directory you open it from becomes the default working directory.

You can also see which directory the project was actually saved in (when you click on "Save As"), and you can use Windows Explorer to move the files to the directory you prefer.

I am not using the free version, but I think the main limitation is board size and number of layers. I don't think it prevents saving your work.
