Eagle cad 6 problem with version 5 generated files

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

Recently we upgraded to eagle cad 6

But at startup eagle cad automatically converted all eagle 5 settings to its new format and started the most recent project.

It allmost immediately came up with an error that the board and schematic are not consistent. Probably due to library changes.

But now the file is converted and I cannot open it with eagle5 anymore, this gives even more errors.

How can I get this fixed?

    Hi Cyclonite,

I hope you're doing well. Files are permanently converted once you save

under V6. At that point V5 won't be able to open the files any more.

The only solution at this point to make the necessary changes to regain

consistency. If the error is due to package names just go into the XML

    and correct it there.

Let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia

    I do have multiple backups.

Only these kind of things annoys me to the bone and I want it resolved in my projects image
