Replace device in schematic and board

Is it possible to replace a device (symbol &

package) with a identical device from a different

library?

I have tried "replace" command, but it only brings

up the standard Eagle library; my target device is

  in a personal library.

How do I direct the "replace" pop-up window to my

library?

    Read about the command use

     

    Type "help use"  in eagle command field.

     

     

    For example "use your.lib"

    Or in control panel right click your lib and select use.

    Control-DEL to delete your old part from the schematic.  Then "use"

    your personal library and "Edit/Add" the part from your personal

    library.  Assuming that the new part has the same symbol as the old

    part, the new part should get connected to the same nets as the old

    part.
