Autorouter not connecting to VCC and GND layers

Hi,

I started out with a 2 layer design, but the autorouter would never finish,

so I added layers 2 and 15. I made Layer 2 a VCC layer and the Layer 15 a

GND layer.

I drew a polygon in the VCC and GND layers and named the polygon to the name

of the net (VCC and GND). When I click the eye icon and click on a pad on my

board which is connected to VCC or GND, the polygons are highlighted, which

tells me that they should be connected.

When I autoroute, Eagle does not make vias to these layers and continues to

route as if it had 2 layers. It eventually gets stuck (at a MUCH lower

percentage than with 2 layers).

What am I doing wrong?

I am sure if this will help you or not as I am very new to eagle, but I

was having trouble where the autoroute would only route about 60%.  Then

in desperation I moved the parts around a bit, ripped up everything and

started the autorouter again.  This time it worked like a charm and

routed 100%. The only problem I have is now is that I have like 40 Stop

Mask Errors though I am really sure what a stop mask error is and if it

is really important as it seems to be related only to the silk screen.

        Z.K.

Activate layers 2 + 15 in the autorouter (general).

Change them from N/A to a prefered direction.
