IDF export / generate 3d data

Hello all,

We are also working with Eagle for the electronic and with Solidworks for

the Mechenical parts.

From the Ulp's we have tried acis-sat.ulp and Generate_3d_data.ulp.

The acis-sat.ulp generates an rectangle with holes in it. The outline from

the PCB is not generated here . Also components are  not generated with this

ulp.

The Generate 3D data.ulp has the problem that it is not finished. After some

resurge we found out that the board outline is on layer 20 and that the line

need some thickness. If the thickness is 0 it is not working. Alse are some

things not implemented in the ulp. We changed some things and now we can

import the PCB correctly without the components into solidworks.

Now my question:

Is it possible that Cadsoft is doing some resurge and programming for a good

working export in IDF format.

All 3D software like , Unigraphics, Pro Engineer, Solidworks, Solidedge

Inventor etc. can import a IDF file.

I support the opinion from Mr. Fabio Mani that a IDF export  an important

choice is for working with Eagle.

Maybe it is possible for other user to react so an good working IDF export

can be set on the wishlist and Cadsoft can place it on the priority list .

With regards

Do you know an IDF viewer FREE (*.idb, *.idl)?
