Hello,

 

I do need to upgrade my EAGLE Pro to the V5. I don't want to buy a bug

fix but I have to.

 

I also need to maintain several V4 projects so I will leave both EAGLE

versions installed.

 

How to set the path of the eaglerc.usr file so each version can use its

own config file?

    EAGLE 4.1 stores the file eaglerc.usr in the folder

    "Documents and Settings/your username/My Documents"

     

    EAGLE 5 has a new location for eaglerc.usr. It's now stored in

    "Documents and Settings/your username/Application Data/CadSoft/EAGLE"

     

    If you install EAGLE 5 and start it for the first time it will

    look for eaglerc.usr in "Application Data/CadSoft/EAGLE". This

    file does not exist yet, so it looks also in "My Documents".

    So the settings of EAGLE 4.1 will be adapted.

     

    If you now change the settings (paths) in EAGLE 5 and quit EAGLE,

    eaglerc.usr will be stored in

    "Documents and Settings/your username/Application Data/CadSoft/EAGLE"

    which is the default folder for EAGLE 5. Next time you start EAGLE5,

    the eaglerc file from "Aplication data" will be read.

     

    So you have different files for EAGLE 4.1 and 5.
