Hi,

Is there a way to use a layer like trestrict for internal layer polygons?

cheers,

Jamie

There are no special layers for rectric areas in inner layers.

What you could do to achieve copper-free areas inside an inner

layer polygon is to draw with the WIRE command (and width 0 or

nearly 0) the edge of this area. If you now use RATSNEST the

polygon will be calculated again and it will keep the given

clearance value to the wires. The area inside will be kept free

if the polygon's parameter "orphans" is set off.

    Hi,

These wires will possibly show up in the gerber data though, which isn't

great, I guess if they are set to width 0 it will work probably, but I

Am not sure how the gerber data will handle width zero wires.

It would be great to have restrict layers for each routing layer I

think, or a flag to say that the layer is a restrict layer, and for

    which corresponding layer.

    cheers,

    Jamie

There was a discussion about this in the beta group recently.

As far as I remember there will be a solution for a future version.

Wires with a width of 0 normally don't appear in the Gerber data.

To be sure what will happen contact your board manufacturer.

This is a very good (future) news, but for which version: V5 or V6 ?
