"No pins on net N$1" warnings, help

Former Member

I am a new user to Eagle and I have starting a new design project. I have created my own parts and created the schematic. When I run the ERC tool, I receive several warnings relating to no pins on several nets. If I move the part on the schematic page all of the nets that have errors follow the part. When I create the board layout, many of the air wires are missing. So I believe the warnings must be corrected. I have looked in the user manual in section 6, but only find reference to DRC errors. The grid size used to create the parts is the same grid size used on the schematic page. I have deleted some of the nets in question and re-drew them only to have the same error show up.

Could someone please offer some guidence to correct this issue? I am considereing re-creating the library parts in inches instead of mm in an attempt to solve the problem.

Thank you in advance,

Dave

Guessing you created new symbols for your lib parts in metric and are

    doing the schematic in metric.

The default is 0.1" grid for all schematic symbols.

The package part of the lib can be in any grid.

Recheck you device pad to symbol mapping.

Also have you done show N$1 in the schematic. You may have an

unconnected net floating on the page somewhere.

    Paul,

Thank you for your suggestions. I re-checked the mapping of the symbol and package, this was correct.

I deleted the and redrew the suspect nets with no change.

I re-created the symbols for the parts, using the default grid settings and created a schematic, also using

using the default grid settings. All is working as expected.

Looks like using metric for symbols is not the way to go.
