SMD pads thermals

autodeskguest

Hi,

I'm having difficulties adjusting the width of the gap on SMD pads and also

on vias. Eagle only generates very thin lines from the pad to the supply

plane. I figured that the gap percentage and minimum/maximum values in the

Supply tab of the DRC would allow me to adjust this but it looks like it has

no effect. The other parameters in the Supply tab of the DRC do have a

visible effect...

thanks,

TH

pad is connected to the supply polygon with 1,2,3 or 4 wires (depending on

situation), and the width of the wire is the same with the width of polygon.

"gap" can be modified from DRC settings, Supply tab, "Thermal" option. (you

    must check "Restring" too)

After modifying DRC settings, run a ratsnest

Aha! I'd set the width of the polygons to 0 hence the thin lines on the

    thermals. All is well now.

    Many thanks eSilviu!

    regards,

    TH
