library -SMD parts use lines vs rectangles

I've gotten an EAGLE schematic/board files from a web site.  Using

EAGLE v4.16r2, I've run DRC - no problems.  I've run CAM and submitted

gerbers to FreeDFM.com - no problems.  I've submitted the gerbers to

BatchPCB.com - PROBLEMS!  I see the same problem if I use EAGLE v5.3.0

to create the gerbers.

 

BatchPCB's bot complains that there are many lines less than 8 mil.

Using GCPrevue to check the gerbers shows that ALL of the SMD pads are

made with ~6 mil lines, instead of rectanges!  How do I fix this

baffling problem?

    I've worked around this problem by deleting the BRD file, and starting

    over with the board layout.  I guess there was something wrong with

    the original BRD file.
