Which Eagle layers to use

donrecardo
donrecardo over 11 years ago

I have just recently started using Eagle Cad.

I have designed a small board 25mm X 25mm and put 4 copies of it on a 50mm square board which I now want produced by Itead.

Itead require that I send gerbers for various layers

GTL Top Copper

GBL Bottom copper

GTS Top Solder Stop Mask

GBS Bottom Solder Stop Mask

GTO Top Silk

GBO Bottom Silk

TXT NC Drill

GKO Board Outline

Can you tell me which Eagle layer numbers correspond to the names Itead use GTO, GTS etc . I know its obvious that

Eagle layer one is the top copper and 16 is the bottom copper , but when I make the gerber for GTL do I just use layer one or do I also need to include other layers like 17 ( Pads) and 18 (vias)

and when I make the drill file do I just use 44 ( drills) or 45( holes) or maybe both?

If some one could tell me which to include for each layer that Itead require I would be grateful

Regards

Don

It's not a one-to-one correspondence. I suggest you start with the

"gerb274x" CAM job supplied with Eagle as that provides most of those

    already set up.

Yes, the GTL will need the pads and vias layers included.

and when I make the drill file do I just use 44 ( drills) or 45( holes)

    or maybe both?

    Use the "excellon" CAM job

Thank you for your answer which was very helpful

I have since reading it also found an on line tutorial that explained it a little further  and then I found that

the PCB makers even offer their own eagle CAM file so that it produced just what they wanted.

    Thank you for your help
