LT SPICE import on Eagle for Mac?

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

I discovered today that Eagle has been able to import LT SPICE files since v6.4.

Is this feature available on the Mac version of Eagle as well?

I'm not seeing the LT SPICE icon on the toolbar next to the DesignLink icon - I'm using paid version v6.5.

Thanks

- J

    Hi J,

Unfortunately, at this point in time the ULP has not been updated to

handle the typical locations users store LTSpice on a Mac, so for the

time being the ulp is not included in the Mac distribution.

After V7 is released we will be correcting this.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia

    Hi Jorge,

It's now well after the V7 release and still no sign of LTSpice integration

in v7.4.0. Are there any plans to get this feature into the Mac version of

Eagle in a subsequent 7.x release?

I appreciate you probably have a bunch of things you are all working on so

have to prioritise but this should be quite quick to get fixed surely?

    Many thanks,

    Rachael

    Hi Rachael,

This is very true. Right now we are all super tied up, and I think this

is going to happen once one of us(read me) can dedicate some serious

    time to it.

It's actually not very quick. My thoughts on getting this resolved would

involve having the ULP check what OS it's working under and then adjust

paths for the OS. Additionally, I would like to implement some

functionality to allow the end user to define the paths manually instead

of relying on the fragile nature of hard coded paths.

There are also scripts that need to be adapted for this to work. I

haven't looked into this too much but I expect this part would go smoothly.

The end game would be to put one concerted effort into getting LTSpice

working on both Mac and Linux.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia

Thanks for the update Jorge, sounds like there is a bit more work involved

than I thought, hopefully you'll find some time to get onto the changes

    soon!

    Best Regards,
