How to change TEXT colour - from GREEN

autodeskguest
autodeskguest over 16 years ago

Hi,

I have been using Eagle for about 10 years, and always disliked the

"Default GREEN" font colour, for added TEXT messages.

My current version is Eagle 4.16, but this has always been a nuisance since

using my very first version.

Recently, I had to reinstall Eagle, keeping my original user project

folders and files,  and after reactivating it with my license, I created a

brand new project. The strange thing I discovered was that all TEXT I

created was BLACK, and even printed that way on my colour LaserJet.

Everything was fine - BLACK TEXT -  until about the time I finally

created the BRD for the SCH. Suddenly, all the text switched to GREEN, and I

have not found any way to select the TEXT font colour. I even tried to

create another schematic (without a BRD), to see if I could recreate this

switch, but it seems that Eagle is now permanently set to create only green

font for this command.

I wonder if there is some undocumented "switch" for TEXT colour in the

"freshly installed" Eagle software, that switches to GREEN TEXT, as soon as

you create your first BRD layout? After that, it can't be changed.

I would appreciate any information about this.

Joe

In the sch text is written on layer 91 (net, green) per default. You can use

an other layer for your texts, e.g. 94 (symbols), 95 (names) or 96 (values)

    or create your own.

But: you have to change the layer manually before placing the text. You

can also use the change(layer)-command, but it's a lot of work image

I created an extra layer for all text in a sch.
