Error Messages

Attached are two screen shots of ERC error messages and the associated schematic section. These errors all result in no physical connection being made in the board layout so I need to solve them and understand what's happening. The F1 Help apparently doesn't provide and answer to these specific messages.

"XXX overlaps pin". I have removed and remade this connection a half dozen times being careful to make sure the "wire" does not overlap the end of the "pin" but I keep getting them.

"Only INPUT pins on N$3". This is the input side of a 7805 VR being connected to the 5V output side of a barrel jack.

"Unconnected pin on U$1 NEG" but it certainly looks connected to me. I created the Library part and I have double checked that it has the Physical Pin "NEG" connected to the Logical Pin "POS".

We're making a Costco trip in a few minutes here, but before I run out, I thought I'd at least ask if you've used the move tool and dragged your part around a bit. I always do that to see if all of the connections are actually attached and move with the part. Sometimes the net isn't actually connected and will just sit there when you move the part. Hit the ESC key to abort the move, or you can just use UNDO after moving the part...

Thanks, that did help identify the situation. I still don't understand what causes it but I was able to get them connected.

Leaves me basically with the problem of the pins on the power jack and the 7850 still not connecting. But I think worst comes to worst I can manually route them on the board layout

One of the recurring issues I've seen is that the schematic editor needs everything on .1" grid. If the schematic grid is changed to something else for any reason, you'll have problems with connections...
