74HC00N Quad 2 Input NAND Gate Missing Pins

faceter
faceter over 11 years ago

A simple circuit create to monitor Plant Moisture levels.

Pins 7 & 14 were not shown in the Logic Diagram.

ERC showed the area that was at fault  -No Supply for implcit POWER pin IC1P VCC.

I was told about INVOKE which produced teh symbol to the left which also had the missing pins.

Question:

Have I done this correctly, if yes  -  How do I incorporate it into the circuit?   ERC still reports an error.

Thanks for your help

    Hi Danny,

Pins 7 and 14 on the left need to be connected to the supply rails. Also, did you ever change the grid setting? If so, that is never advisable. Try moving IC1A, and if the wires do not move with it, then things are not fine. Also, except for rare circumstances, all wires should be parallel or perpendicular; no other angles are generally acceptable on a circuit diagram. That's a cosmetic thing, but is important otherwise it makes it hard to follow the circuit. There are a few exceptions, but they are rare.

He indicated he had used the "invoke" command, but I suspect the problem

may be that there is no supply defined on the board.  If you forget to add

the power to the board, then the automatic binding to the rails can't

happen.  I seem to remember managing to shoot myself in the past that way

(I have found many ways actually ... sigh)
