Cannot get user interface to appear in English

Dear all,

 

I have searched on-line and still do not have a clear, simple answer to this issue. When Eagle starts, the menu bar appears in the German language.

 

I am running Eagle 6.6.0 on Xubuntu 14.04 and have made a standard install from the package on the CadSoft website.

 

I've tried changing the LANG setting but without success. Currently, if I "export | grep LANG" I get:

 

declare -x GDM_LANG="en_US"

declare -x LANG="en_US"

declare -x LANGUAGE="en_US"

 

Could someone please provide a solution for configuring these language variables that actually works, or please give me some options to try to which I can provide some feedback.

 

Would it also be possible to request that a language choice feature be built into Eagle? It would make such things so much easier.

    Hi Jorge,

     

    Actually, I did do this too (I found this solution somewhere) and it does work. However, in the first window that appears when the application is opened, under the "Description" column the text is still in German. If I then select a library (as an example) the description of the library appear in German on the right-hand-side in the control panel.

     

    From this I currently conclude that the removal of the *_de.qm files doesn't fully resolve the issue.

     

    I would still prefer to have a settings option somewhere (like with most programs these days) where I can select the language.
