Clarification: Will Eagle v7 work without an active Internet connection?

I've read through the v7 Licensing thread and it is not clear whether you need an active Internet connection to use the new version.

ie Will the software won't work on laptops away from wifi?

 

Also, is there yet any word on upgrade pricing? The prospect of spending more money to get a product that is locked to specific machines is not appealing.

    Hello,

     

    For the 1-user licenses that are tied to a Host ID they are not supposed to

    need an internet connection.  For the multi-user licenses they by default

    will need to be able to connect to the license server.  Typically that

    would be on an internal network.

     

    There has been some talk about being able to get USB dongles for multi-user

    licenses in the case where you absolutely won't have access to a network.

    I haven't seen anything official about that but CadSoft did mention that

    might be a possibility.
