Upgrade from ver 6 to ver 7 (license question)

Hello All,

I purchased Eagle (Hobbyist) on 3/3/14. Now that version 7 is out. Am I stuck having to pay full price again after 4 months of use?

Thanks

    Hello All,

I purchased Eagle (Hobbyist) on 3/3/14. Now that version 7 is out. Am

    I

stuck having to pay full price again after 4 months of use?

    Hello Anthony,

There was an interim promotion for a free upgrade to v7 to help around the

transition.  Unfortunately it started on April 15th, just after you

    purchased your license.

However, you can upgrade your hobbyist license so at least you don't have

to pay full price for the upgrade.  You can do so here:

    http://www.eaglecentral.ca/eagle/eagle-v7-license-upgrade/eagle-v7-standard-hobbyist-upgrade

NOTE:  You'll need to include a Host ID for any single-user licenses now.

The easiest way seems to be to install the version of EAGLE you want and

run it in freeware mode to start.  The license window should have your Host

ID which you can then use to place your order.  There are other ways to do

this, but they involve installing other software.

    Cheers,

    James.

    James,

    Thanks for the quick reply.

I work in software and I totally understand. Sure the timing sucks but that's just how it goes sometimes. The link you provided was exactly what I was looking for. I also appreciate the completeness of your reply.

Eagle is an excellent piece of software so I don't mind the pinch of the upgrade. Thanks.

    No Steffano,

You fall within the promotional period. Just contact Cadsoft and provide

your HostID. They will issue a new V7 license.
