Issues with 7.1.0 on Ubuntu 14.04 (Removing Spice)

As part of a project a while ago I required Spice, so I installed Spice, however I have since (tried to) un-install Spice to no effect.

There appears to be no trace of any spice file when I search my home directory, and the Spice text stays even after complete removal/re-installation of Eagle. The result of Spice is very slight text next to the connections of each component saying "Spice Order **", it is incredibly obvious when zoomed out and is distracting, even just a way of removing this would be beneficial. This is what is looks like inside Eagle;

Anyone have any ideas?

    That is a feature that can be used to perform simulations using LTSpice.

    It's very easy to turn off in the schematic just disable the SpiceOrder

    layer and you won't see it anymore.

    Also, upon the startup of Eagle 7.1.0, it prompts the creation of a ulp

    folder for an Eagle version that is not even installed;

    This can happen if you have had EAGLE installed on your machine before.

    Sometimes they write to the same eaglerc file on your computer. There's

    a couple of things you could do here.

    Try to find the hidden eaglerc.usr file on your system(assuming Windows

    here). With EAGLE closed, delete that file and any others you find and

    then restart. EAGLE will write a new one from scratch.

    Another possibility is to tell EAGLE specifically what eaglerc to use

    and where to create it. This is done through a one-line batch script.

    I've included the contents of mine below. You'll have to modify it for

    your computer's paths.

    "C:\Program Files\EAGLE-6.5.0\bin\eagle.exe" -U"C:\Documents and

    Settings\Administrator\My Documents\eagle\eaglerc650.usr"

    Jorge Garcia
