Pcb sides etched wrong

Former Member

Hi all,

I am trying to build a pcb with a cnc router but the sides of my pcb are not orientated correctly. When I etch my board in the machine, the bottom side looks exactly like the one on the screen but the top side (with an atmega 328p-au) is mirrored or whatever. The holes do line up but to solder the atmega correctly I would have to flip it facing upwards and not touching the pads. I tried mirroring the entire board but with no success. Any ideas why this happens and how I can solve it ?

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Sounds like your library is drawn wrong, or both sides are mirrored.

Some images from your design would help clarify the issue.

Actually it sounds like the cnc process is mirrored. What Eagle shows

"on the screen" is always a view from the top of the board, showing the

bottom layer "through" the board. So if your bottom side looks like the

    screen, it's backwards.

Well I figured that out and to solve it for the bottom side I selected the mirror checkbox on the pcb-gcode-setup and for the top side I mirrored it on the screeen and then selected mirror in the setup as well. So both sides were mirrored outputing a correct board  ! Every component is now touching the correct pads !!

    Thank you for your replies,
