Changing name of copied part from existing library to "MyLibrary"

Hi,

I have just started to create my own library of parts that I frequently use or want to use.

As I cannot find a diode 1N4001, I copied a 1N4004 from the dioide.lbr. I would like to remove all reference to it being a 1N4004 and replace it with 1N4001.

I have tried what for me are the logical ways, but to no avail.

I have read both the Dr Monk book and the Matthew Scarpino book, neither of them explain how to rename only how to copy.

Could some kind soul please tell me how to replace all reference to 1N4004 with 1N4001 in my library.

Thanks and kind regards,

jB

Really? I'd have thought it was not that hard. Have you tried "HELP

    RENAME" for example?

"All" references? There is only one! The device is called 1N4004 and it

calls up a symbol called "D" and a package called "DO41-10", both of

which are correct for a 1N4001.

So if you go off and read the help, I think you should be able to figure

it out for yourself. You will learn more by using your brain and the

information already at your hands than by falling back on asking for

    hand-holding.

    Cadsoft Guest...

Thank you for your arrogant reply. Clearly your comprehension of English is as limited as my experience of Cadsoft "replace all reference to 1N4004 with 1N4001 in my library." I said nothing about replacing the other values, may I suggest that you RTFQ whilst I RTFM.

The answer though, did in fact help me, so thank you.
