Question about layer settings...

Former Member
Former Member over 11 years ago

Hi there,

I'm a eagle newbie just starting from reading tutorial_en.pdf. I have a question about the layer settings or DISPLAY command.

If I select some layers to be displayed and press the Apply button in layer settings menu, the currently displayed layers (marked blue) will all turn into gray color, this makes difficult for me to tell which layer is already displayed. The only thing I can do to restore the currently displayed layers to blue is scrolling my mouse or making a mouse click among the layers. Is this the right behavior of eagle, maybe I have missed something?

Maybe I should define aliased for my purpose (switch quick from one layer combination to another)?

    Hello,

I had the same problem at work, when my PC was changed. I don't have this problem on Linux (KDE), neither on windows XP. But on Windows 7, with the default theme (display setting) the color of a selected item is blue, but only if the focus is on the list. But, if not, the selected item became ultra light gray on a white background (that's a really smart idea from Microsoft, Cadsoft as nothing to do with this).

How did I solve the problem on Windows 7 ?

Simple : choose a better theme. The XP style theme work fine (on that particular point) but is not really ... how to say ...  not really sexy. image

At work, I kept the XP style theme, because I don't care image. At home on KDE (linux) I can change all colors I want, so I don't have no troubles !  But I pretty sure you will found a great super nice colorful theme that suit you preferences, and with a better contrast ! image

    Guillaume.
