Export Image problem

waiata
waiata over 10 years ago

When I use "Export / Image" to send an image of my PCB to a .bmp file, the image does not contain any of the PCB holes. When there is a hole not associated with a track it seems to work properly but as soon as a track is included it appears to cover over the hole

Does anyone know how to rectify this problem?

Reading between the lines of an email I received in reference to a similar

complaint I made a while back, I can state the fillowing with some degree of

    hopelessness:

That feature was too cumbersome for Cadsoft to keep bugless after v6.3.

Being as how the bmp (also jpg, png, and tiff) outputs are mostly useful to

hobbyist rather than professional designers, and whereas Farnell now calls

the shots, I feel really doubtful that the aforementioned output formats

will ever again be fully functional in Eagle.

Such a shame, but comes as no surprise, after the direction things have

    taken.

I think, in fairness, BMP export was never even of any use even to

hobbyists. There are far better alternatives. I certainly never used BMP

output, as a hobbyist, since V4.

    Hi Brett,

With all due respect,I think you've read incorrectly. This bug has been

corrected for our next stable release which should be out in a week or so.

I've personally used BMP output for toner transfer, its biggest

advantage to me is that there's no compression or mangling of the file.

Yes it's huge, but I know that all of my data is as crisp and clean as I

can get it. The other formats have also been corrected so everything

    should be nice.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia

It already worked in V5. We then paid for V6, and you broke it. Now we

are at V7, a V6 with an incremented version number. So we have to pay

again, just to get that fixed. Are you serious?
