Copy attributes across multiple sheets

bhodder
bhodder over 9 years ago

Hello,

I have a design which spans 17 sheets and need to change attributes on a part that has several copies across the sheets. I have tried to use both attrib-copy.ulp and attrib-add.ulp but they both continue to pop up "please select parts" even when parts are selected. Can anyone suggest a means of doing this without having to do it individual for each part?

Thanks,

Blake

    Hi Blake,

If the attributes are always going to be the same then it may be worth

your while to set these in the libraries.

Outside of the ULPs you've tried I'm not aware of any other solutions to

    this.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia

This is fixed just now in the latest attrib-add.ulp from GIT at https://github.com/robertstarr/ulp_user/blob/master/attrib-add.ulp . If enough time has passed since this posting it might be in the downloaded release too.

(Note: I know the question is 1 year old... but this comes up as one of the first results when searching the topic so answered for anyone else stumbling upon this problem).

Many thanks. You should also change the version number and add

    an entry in the history.

Ah I'm not the author sorry! I just added a tiny fix to Bob Starr's awesome ULP collection, so didn't play with the versioning info.

But I'm sure he'll be doing that at some point in the future.

EDIT: I should also add, to use the atribs-add.ulp, you can use the select5.ulp in that same repository to form your selection/group. It will allow you to select components based on specific values etc and selects across all sheets. This lets you select all 100n capacitors in 0402 package size for example and give them an attribute with the specific part number.
