Aligning parts on a metric grid

Hi,

 

I've created a component in library editor. I used a 2.50 mm grid, since

this is the pitch of the pins on the part. The pads for the part in the

package design are therefore perfectly aligned on this metric grid.

 

I've now used this part on a schematic, and am trying to create a board .

All the parts on the board are these same 2.50 mm pitch parts, all created

by me in library editor.

 

On the board, i'm changing grid to 2.50mm, same as the parts. But, the

centres of the pads are not aligned with the grid on the board - they are

what seems to be an arbitrary offset.

 

How can I resolve this? My traces will be very messy unless the pads line up

with the grid.

    You can avoid this by pressing Ctrl while placing (moving) the component

    (the component will jump into the current grid).
