Raspberry pi

Hello,

My name is Shadeed Mahmud and I had  query about raspberry pi extension boards.

  •   Can you double stack these extension boards? (http://au.element14.com/piface/piface-digital-2/i-o-expansion-board-for-raspberry/dp/2434230)

For example I need multiple different modules mounted on the raspberry pi board. So I'm thinking of mounting an extension board to the GPIO pins and have these pins extended then I will           mount another extension board on top of the previous extension board. Is that possible?

  •    Also these boards have 2 relays in them, I need 8 relays, does element14 have any thing like that? I looked into other options such as this ( UniPiUnipi Board for Raspberry Pi ). Does                  element14 have anything similar to this or can they procure such a board?

Please get back to me at your earliest convenience.

Regards,

Shadeed

    Hi,

No they are not stackable (they use SPI according to google'd circuit diagrams on the web). If you need eight relays, you could manually wire up multiple boards (have the chip enable pins going to unused GPIO pins perhaps).

I've not seen a 8 relay board on the element14 sites.

You could stack them using the PiPace Rack .. however I'm not sure version 2 is out yet.

Shabaz you're quite right I've never seen an 8 relay board for the RPI ... but the PiFace Digital does have 8 Outputs, so you could use another relay board.

These also look like a new item and make accessing th epins somewhat more available.
