Fillstyle in polygons in non-signal layers

Question

In version 6.6: I define the fillstyle for a non-signal layer (layer 117) as one of the dotted patterns (non-solid color). I can draw rectangles and circles and they are filled with this dotted pattern as expected. But then when I draw a polygon in this layer it is filled with solid color. How can I get the fillstyle to apply to the polygon fill? Note that my goal is to make this filled polygon more "transparent" when displayed with other layers. If there is another way to accomplish this goal please let me know. See attached pdf with screenshots. Thanks for the help!

Polygons are filled with wires the same width as you used to draw the

outline of the polygon. In your case you used a 1mil wire. If you zoom

in on those wires you will see they are drawn with the pattern you

selected. It's best to draw polygons with the largest width wire you can

get away with, considering the edge detail it must exhibit, as this

keeps the board's file size smaller. Doing this may give you the visual

difference you require.

You can get transparency by manipulating the alpha channel of the

palette colour if the palette is using Alpha blending.

You could add another colour pair beyond the default palette and give it

a greater transparency.

I must add that using anything beyond the default palette will come back

to haunt you at some point. Your colours are not conveyed in the board

file so others will see their colours when they view your design.
