Manually re-sizing pad diameter and drill size in Board Editor - Eagle v 6.4.0

Hi All,

I have an Eagle issue I'm hoping you can help with (v 6.4.0). I am trying to manually resize pad diameters and drill sizes for some parts in the Board Editor using the "Change" tool. For some reason Eagle is not letting me do this, but it does let me re-size other things such as track widths with no problem. When I use change diameter or drill and click on the pad nothing happens. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong? I'm sure I'm missing something!

You appear to have missed doing appropriate Eagle tutorials. You would

have learned you cannot change the size of the drill in the part

footprint, called an 'element' in the board editor.

You need to open the library the part is from and modify the 'package'

(footprint) there. Then you need to update the board from the newly

modified library for the change to appear on the board.

That takes care of the drill size.

Next for the pad size, you should read the following to understand how

the DRC settings affect the pad diameter. Most people don't understand

how this works, initially.
