That's because working with schematics is absolutely the way to go. You
may be accustomed to sketching out what you think the board looks like
off the top of your head, but that's a mindset you need to get out of.
Now. If you don't have the schematic, at least in some form, then you
don't know what you're doing as you draw out the board - you're just
doodling and you might as well use MSPaint.
