Can't install EAGLE 5.x.x in Ubuntu 9.04

Hi!

I have just upgraded my Ubuntu (linux) distro to the newer 9.04, but I

can't install EAGLE 5 in this distro for the following error:

./eagle-lin-5.5.0.run: line 107:

/tmp/eagle-setup.5714/eagle-5.5.0/bin/eagle: Nessun file o directory

(ENG: ./eagle-lin-5.5.0.run: line 107:

/tmp/eagle-setup.5714/eagle-5.5.0/bin/eagle: No file or directory), but

in Ubuntu 8.10 there is NO error installing it!

How can I install program in my distro?

Thank you!

Stefano

    Hi,

I have tried to install E 5.5.0 on Ubuntu 9.04 (not Kubuntu) and can confirm

it installs OK. I have used vanilla ubuntu instalation. Be sure to have all

dependancies (I think I saw them in cadsoft web page somewhere, especially

    Qt library.

    Hi!

First of all, thank you for your reply!

After some test I have installed it, but without install dialog

    (specifing destination directory).

dependancies (I think I saw them in cadsoft web page somewhere, especially

Damn! I have forgotten QT library! This is the problem! I have tested it

    now and installation go smarty!

    Thank you justas!

P.S. I would suggest to EAGLE people to display a more useful message,

because "No file or directory" isn't so usefull to detect library missing!

    Bye!

EAGLE is statically linked against Qt, so there is no need to install

any Qt library. Maybe doing so pulled in something else that was missing?

AFAICS that message commes from the Linux loader, not EAGLE itself.

    Hi Klaus!

If EAGLE is statically linked with QT lib, I think it has provided some

extra lib, related to graphics, that was missing. This is because

without it only command line install was possible!

Ah, ok! but that message is rather cryptic! image
