All packages grayed out

I haven't created a new device for a long time, but don't think I've ever seen this behavior before:  After adding the symbol and changing the name, when I click "new" to select a package, all the files are shown, but every one is grayed out.  I can't select anything and if I click OK it chooses the first package in the list, which is totally unsuitable.

    Hi Greg,

This usually happens when the symbol unintentionally has more pins than

the user intended. Sometimes, multiple pins overlap each other in the

symbol and it looks like there is only one.

Check out your symbol and see if this is the case.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia

Thanks, Jorge, that is exactly what happened.  I guess I never noticed before that it won't let you assign a package that doesn't have enough pins for the symbol!
