Can you MOVE using arrow keys?

Is there any way to make fine adjustments in positioning or an element while

in the Move command using the keyboard arrow keys?

 

I have this function on another CAD package and found that it is useful when

trying to make small orthogonal adjustments. On that, once in the move

command, you can control either from mouse or by arrow keys.

 

As long as I mention the other CAD... it uses the home key to center the

window on the current cursor position.

Is there any way in Eagle to ASSIGN to keys other than the ones in the

pull-down menu (Assign - new)? I would like to map the HOME key (as eagle

does not seem to use it otherwise?) to be 'Window (@);'

 

 

 

 

  • I don't know of a built-in way to move with arrow keys. I looked in the

    ULP reference for a variable that would define the current position of the

    cursor. I didn't find that reference. However, I suspect a package on a

    board would have an x,y location of its center available via ULP.

     

    One approach you could use is to use MOVE and specify the exact

    destination via a keyboard entry. Check the documentation for relative

    coordinate syntax. You can move relative to the current position by

    whatever unit you want.

     

    Finally, you have probably noticed that ASSIGN only likes F1..F12 , BS,

    numbers and A..Z which I agree is frustrating.--
