chassis ground symbol

I'm very new to all this and I am attempting to convert a paper schematic to Eagle CAD. The drawing has many many instances of Chassis Ground, but there does not seem to be a chassis ground or frame ground in the included libraries.

This seems like a pretty big omission, or there is just some other common way to represent chassis ground that of which I'm not aware. Can anyone point me to a library with such a symbol or explain the preferred method to represent this?

Thank,

-p

Both the supply1 and supply2 libraries include a "PE" symbol, which I'd

always assumed was "protective earth" aka chassis ground. Since Eagle

doesn't really care what the function of these symbols is (it merely

matches signal names) you can definitely use it as such.

Alternatively, you could clone one of those libraries for your own use

(as you should always do before editing) and create a "CGND" or similar.

I'd suggest a copy of PE is probably a good place to start.

    Cheers,

    Rob

    Thanks for the reply Rob.

Now that I've spent more time looking at this schematic, the author is just using that symbol out of preference. He's not for instance specifying any other type of ground, just the chassis symbol. I think your correct, I can just one of the standard symbols.

    Thanks again,
