Rename 0-Length Wire Created by Symbol Pin on top of Another

autodeskguest

Hello,

I have a case where I need to rename a net from a command line.  Normally I can do that, but this net is actually auto created because the a pin of one symbol overlaps with a pin of another symbol.  So it's a zero length wire that you can only see if you move one of the symbols.

But I need to do this in a script and I can't figure out how to.  I tried turning off the symbol layer and then grouping the area, but it complains that it is an empty group even though there is a wire there of 0 length.

So how do I do this?  I need to assume that I don't know the name of that auto-generated net before hand for my solution.

FYI, EAGLE 5.6 on Mac is what I'm using in case there is a bug underneath this.

Cheers,

James.

If the pins are ending at the same position the net line is not

reachable (as you already wrote). What you could do is to place a

JUNCTION at this position first and then NAME the net.

    Maybe this helps?
