It would be really helpful to have a new option in the "Layer settings.."
menu to be able to lock layers, in addition to the currently show/hide
option.
Maybe you could add a three-state layer option to the first column, where
the layer number is shown.
My suggestion for the new layer states are:
1. Hidden (shown as non selected cell, with white background, as it is
now).
2. Visible (shown as selected cell, with blue background, as it is now).
3. Visible & Locked (shown as selected cell, with another background color,
maybe red... or adding a small lock icon). Please see the attached image
for more information.
A "visible & locked" layer would stay visible (in background) but the tools
would not affect their elements.
This would be really helpful mainly when working with múltiple BMP layers
while building a new library package (i.e. of a complex component or
enclosure imported footprint). Particularly I would never work the same
manner after this feature :proud:
