SMD Pads Merged with Polygon

I have another rookie question.

Attached is a picture showing a simple rectangular PCB with two components

on it.  I want to use the polygon comand to create a plane that touches the

SMD Pads as much as possible.  Creating the Polygon on the top layer and

using the name command I change the Polygon signal name to match the trace

connecting the two SMD Pads. When I Ratsnest, the SMD Pad is seperated from

the Polygon.  How do I change this?

The components have the STOP turned off when the SMD pads were created.

Thanks,

Jason

i think you want thermals OFF for the polygon, that might fix it.

Notice the small lines connecting it to the polygon? That is matching

the polygon's width and isolate. If isolate is too big, or width is too

small, you can have problems. I commonly use both set to anywhere from 8

to 16mils, depending upon several things.
