5.7 upgrade versus 5.6 libraries

re: 5.7 upgrade versus 5.6 libraries

I upgraded to 5.7. I just created a new project in it. In the schematic ADD

browser, all the paths shown in the descriptions are for the 5.6 version of

the libraries.

Since the Eagle library structure increasingly makes less and less sense to

me, I am prepared to believe anything you tell me. But surely this isn't

right? And/or what should I do about?

Your project file contains a list of libraries that have been used

with EAGLE 5.6. Now you are working with EAGLE 5.7. If you want to

work with the newer libraries from now on, you have to type, for

example, in the command line of your schematic editor window:

    USE -*

in order to drop all the libraries from the list.

Then, in case the library path points to the new EAGLE 5.7.

libraries (see Control Panel, Options/directories menu), type in

    USE *

This loads all the new libraries. Now you can work with them.
