Cannot 'MOVE' parts in Eagle Standard V5.6.0

I recently purchased a 3-user license of Eagle 5.6.0 standard and just today

started using it for layout. I placed the first part on the board and tried

to move it to a new location. I get an error window 'The Standard edition of

EAGLE can't perform the requested action! See Help for further details.'

 

This seems like a fairly necessary function for board layout. It can't

possibly be that I need to upgrade to Professional to get 'MOVE'

functionality, can it?

    Hello Fred,

     

    What it means is that you're trying to move something outside of the

    limitations of your current license.  First confirm that your license has

    been properly applied to EAGLE and you're not still using the freeware

    license.  If that is OK then for standard you have to place parts within

    the 100x160mm allowed rectangle.

     

    You don't need Professional for move.  You need Professional for larger

    board area if required.

  • specifically, the smaller licenses don't let you move things beyond the

    board area, especially the "negative" board area below and to the left.

    just make sure that the final destination of the move is in the "legal"

    area. gets everyone image
