How to generate black/while images of top and bottom layers to the exact size of the board from EagleCad?

Hi,

 

I am able to export (more like print) from EagleCad into PDF format.

But seem not able to do one layer of the board at all time.

 

Any gerber tool that can let me do that to the exact size?

  • Ok, thanks all for the answers.

     

    I found gerbv, a free gerber file view, and I generate all the layers from

    the *.brd file.  gerbv loads the layers and I can view individually.  gerbv

    exports out pdf files for each of the layers to the exact size.

    Eagle seems to have something like this built in, but of course you can

    always print to the Acrobat print driver to make a PDF of anything Eagle

    can print.  That's actually how I always make PDFs from Eagle.

    Of course it can.  It depends on what you have selected.

    I don't know.  If you want exact know size you can export a image from the

    board editor at any specific DPI you want.  If you know your printer is 600

    DPI, you can export a image at 600 DPI, then print it at 1:1 pixels.  If

    you want a single layer in black, set the foreground to white and set the

    color of that layer to black.

  • How about....

     

    1.  Use the layer control to select one (or more layers)

    2.  Click on the print icon and then the pdf button

    3.  Go back to step 1 until you have printed all the individual layers

    that you want.

     

    This will give you each layer or group of layers in a separate PDF.

     

    You can also use gerbv or ViewMate to read the gerber files generated by

    the CAM processor.   These tools should allow you to print a single

    layer or group of layers too.

     

    Yet another approach would be to change the output device selection in

    your CAM processor to use a ps or eps device and then run the job.

    This will make a file in postscript or encapsulated postscript.    Many

    print drivers and image viewing tools will know how to read that format.

  • In v4, it only prints the visible layers, I use cutepdf to capture them

    to pdf's . Not sure if they are perfect 1:1 magnification though.
