Follow-me router

Still working through some setup issues for the new 4-layer board.

 

If I manually route some power traces, using the center mouse button to

select the intended layer, is working properly.

 

Follow-me routing is not behaving as I would expect (used this all the time

with 2-layer boards). I can select the layer with the center mouse button

but it is routing on layer 1 or 16.

 

Device I started with is a SOIC (1.27mm pitch) and follow-me will not attach

to pins.

 

Tools- autorouter has Auto grid checked.

 

Where am I going wrong?

    Follow-me has it's own setup (TAP). Grid should be fine enough that AR

    can reach connection points/pads. If you don't want the grid perhaps

    THAT fine, then route away from the device to the nearest grid. If

    necessary you must change the catch factor (Fangradius:

    Options/Einstellungen/Verschiedenes)  image

    Have you read the HELP for Follow-me routing?.

    Editor Commands > Route > Follow-me Router

     

    I feel your answer will be one of the points mentioned there.
