ULP to change class of a net?

I've tried things like 

if (classNum > 0 && sClass != classNum) {
exit(S.class.number = classNum);
}
and 
if (classNum > 0 && sClass != classNum) {
S.class.number = classNum;
}
etc 
but nothing seems to be working.  What I am trying to do is to reassign a known list of nets to a specific class.  
any help gratefully received

    Why are you referring to AI? 

    Are you suggesting that the tone or content of my message was poor?  

    Would you prefer that I write in another language?  I speak french, Spanish and Italian fluently as well as English.  I can probably do something comprehensible in German too. 

    As it happens I have solved the problem by editing the XML directly.  I imagine there is a good ulp solution too.

    Many users in our community do not communicate with English. It is not a barrier. You will get very little response from me and some others if you post questions to the forum like you post a question to AI. Most times the questions look like it came from young people seeking a quick answer for a school project. That is frowned upon.
