NAME command in ULP

Hello,

I've using NAME within a ULP to automatically rename some busses/wires. It

works great when there is just one occurrence of a wire on a sheet but as

soon as there is a second I get a pop-up asking if I want to change just

the selected segment or all segments in the sheet. Looking at the docs I

can't see a way to make this happen automatically without prompting, does

anybody else know of a way to stop this prompt showing up?

If not then maybe the command needs an enhancement to allow the following

optional parameter for naming busses/wires:

NAME new_name (x y) T

where T = This segment, E = Every segment on sheet and A = All segments on

all sheets

Best Regards,

Rachael

I support this suggestion. In fact I flagged this issue many years

    ago.

All the commands with the potential of resulting in a requester should

have these options. Currently only the yes/no requesters can be

pre-answered with the SET CONFIRM, but this doesnt work with other

    requesters.

So I just tried the SET CONFIRM option in my script and it does get rid of

the nag, it would seem YES equates to the E option in my above example and

I suspect NO would equate to the T (I haven't tried it) but sadly there is

no way to make this work across all sheets with this option.

It's also a sledge hammer approach to turn off all the warnings for the

entire script with a blanket YES or NO auto confirmation. You could keep

changing it in the script for every time you need to do something

different, but I think my suggestion to be able to specify exactly how it

should be handled for every occurrence of such commands within a script is

much more powerful and much safer. In the docs it even gives a big warning

about the dangers of using SET CONFIRM so it would seem sensible for

CadSoft to enhance all such commands to provide a much more flexible,

easier to use and safer option.
