clearence error on a 1.27mm pitch custom part

hello all ,

i am a beginner at eagle ,

i am trying to make a custom sata connector (see attached picture).

the small hole needs to be 0.74mm hole,

when i create the device i get a clearance error (the pads are too close),

i tried to reduce the diameter size (i only need 0.74mm hole and i dont need a big pad),

and no matter what  diameter size/0.74mm drill combination i chose i get this error ,

the pad size doesn't seems to change in the board view ,

it is changing only in the package view.

what can i do ? it is a very simple true hole connector.

There are two common reasons for beginners to hit this sort of problem.

    1) libraries aren't automatically updated. When you change your library,

it doesn't affect any of your existing designs until you explicitly

update the library in that design.

    2) Pad sizes are controlled by design rules. Although the library may

specify tiny holes and almost no restring (the copper circle round the

hole), your board will get bigger pads if its design rules say so. This

is easy to miss because the rules are set on the "DRC" (design rule

check) dialog, which you probably haven't even thought about yet.
