need help finding a specific tutorial?

hello, I am very new to creating schematic layouts, and I want to create something that is pretty specific, but I can't find any tutorials directly relating to it.

 

What I want to make is a VCO (Voltage controlled oscillator) that is powered by a 14 pin ribbon cable, with different waveform outputs.

 

im trying to learn how to make it compatible with something called Eurorack, which is a module format that creates sound.

 

So basically, I want a VCO that can send audio out through 3.5mm patch cables. does anyone know where i could go to learn this specific sort of thing?

    You might have better luck searching for 'analog synth circuit' which will likely contain VCO circuits. Nowadays if you search for VCO on its own, you'll just end up with circuits not intended for audio, because VCOs are more often used for other purposes (e.g. radio) and such circuits have the wrong characteristics for audio (they won't work for audio).

    Also you could try to find schematics for old synths, but bear in mind that the parts used might not be available today.

    Nowadays other methods are used to create sounds (for a brief historical look, see here - it is just a very partial history). VCOs are (mostly) historical so your best bet for learning about them is to study older schematics and music journals (there are some that have been around for decades). Depending on how deep you want to get into the subject (and all the maths..) then a university library would provide you with a lot of information because the ancient journals are not all available online.
