Any idea ?

Help should be great.

Thanks

    Hi Ritchie,

How are you importing an SVG into EAGLE? I've looked and I have no import option for this and there are no ULP in my installation in any v7 version of EAGLE that look like they would do the job. Is this a 3rd party ULP you are using? From the error message it looks like maybe something that is just a line with a start and an end point in the SVG is being interpreted as a polygon by the imported and hence it doesn't actually have enough points to draw the polygon. Where does the SVG come from? Is it exported from a drawing tool or something?

    Best Regards,

Hi Rachael and many thanks for your prompt reply.

The ULP for SGV import is "svg2poly.ulpt" here the link enclosed :

    https://github.com/cmonr/Eagle-ULPs

I tested this ULP because I have more prob. with OSH Park, when I upload my

project with a logo in bmp it seems to be not recognize !!!!!! I decided to

test with alternative SVG import but not working....I'm going to be crazy

    !!!

Do you can do some tests for me please ? try to import the logo I attached

and upload the berber fiel into a zip on OSH Park and let me know ?

Here my personal mail if you want :

    mailto:ritchie@ritchie.fr

    Are you in UK ?

    regard and thanks by advance.

    Hi Ritchie,

Yes I'm in the UK. Thanks for the link to the SVG importer, that could be quite useful :-)

I've not used OSH park before but I can try importing your BMP into a simple board and give it a go for you and see what happens. I see they take EAGLE .brd files directly, have you tried uploading your .brd file directly rather than using zipped gerbers?

    Best Regards,

    Thanks for your help !

First try to test the SVG import and let me know if it works ! and second,  if you can do a simple test with my logo (bmp) with the bmp'ULP

For OSH you must use their CAM JOB here the link :

OSH Park Docs ~ Eagle: CAM Jobs to Generate Gerbers

You must do their GERBER JOB and zip all the GER files on the website , here the link :

    https://oshpark.com/

Thanks for your help my friend

    Ritchie

PS: I forgot to tell you this, test only with GERBER FILE not .brd please if you want to chat with me I think you have my budy names ?

    Hi Ritchie,

Ok it looks straight forward to generate the stuff needed for them. I just need to finish off another job and then give this a try in a short while and will get back to you.

I did just notice the following:

    From the OSH Park website:

Due to a change in how Eagle 7.2 generates Excellon drill files, we now provide two sets of CAM files. They are not interchangeable! We can detect and fix the issue automatically if you upload a .brd file, but uploading a zip file of gerbers generated in Eagle 7.2 or newer using the old CAM job will cause the site to give you an error.

I thought I would ask if this could be your issue just in case you've got the old CAM file lying around still and selected that by mistake?

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

About the the OSH CAM I will make other test for take a look but I don't think this the reason of my issue

Thanks my friend and provided the favor can be returned

    Regards and see you soon.

    Hi Ritchie,

Sorry for the delay getting back to you, work got in the way Friday and then I had a packed schedule this weekend.

Anyway, I have just tried a simple board through OSH Park with your logo imported. It seems I can create the gerbers successfully with their CAM job and upload them and all looks ok except the bitmap logo is omitted from the preview. It doesn't give any errors, it just doesn't show up. I checked the gerbers with gerbv and the logo is showing there. So then I ran the same output data through the Eurocircuits online quote and it all appears to be fine, the logo appears correctly. So I think the issue is OSH Park. I don't know if this is the same error you were seeing but the data output from EAGLE looks fine as it works elsewhere.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

Hi my friend and thanks for your reply, no prob for the delay...

I have the same, not preview but the logo is  on Top silkscreen, I think too the issue os the OSH Park.

Second test !! Did you test the SVG IMPORT ULP ? it seems to be easy for OSH Park...for me the ULP doesn't works

Very thanks to you my friend for this tests, If I can help you for something else don't hesitate.

    Regards

    Ritchie

PS: Have you got a MSN ICQ or other chat ? we can share our tests and works

    Hi All,

It might be the case that the OSHpark viewer might not be able to handle

a high-pixel count bitmap. This was the case with gerbv a few years ago,

I don't know if it's been corrected since.

In general, for the logos you want to use the lowest resolution image

that will give an acceptable result. The image might show up in the OSH

park viewer if you lower it's resolution.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia

Hi Jorge and thanks for your reply...

Yes I think this a resolution image, I find a solution with lowest resolution but the prob. seems to be preview mode because once you click on "continue" you can see the logo.

Anyway OSH suggest me to use .SVG format but the ULP don't works did you test this format ? if yes do you can feedback the me the results ?

Thanks again for your help and regards

    Hi Ritchie,

I've just tried svg2poly.ulp with three different SVG files and I get different errors with each. It seems to have limited compatibility with actual SVG files which is a shame.

    You're welcome Ritchie.

Just for completeness, I just created a really simple SVG file with a simple polygon and nothing else and the ULP also failed to work with this too so I am interested to know what SVG files this does work with and how they are created because as far as I can tell it's not working at all.

Anyway, I hope you manage to move forward with your project and get your boards done ok. Let me know if you need and further help.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael
