Command Line Polygon

Actually, the help menu doesn't.

I'd like to add a polygon in a script file where I do several post-route

operations.  The help menu doesn't help me figure out out to set the

dimensions and location of the polygon, or how to set the remaining values

I mentioned in my original post.

i.e., if I can type it in on the command line, that same command would work

in the script file.

I can create a polygon using the graphics capabilities, but that's not what

I'm looking for.

I would make a simple board with just a polygon, export as script then

look at the contents.

Thanks Paul.

First thought was good idea.  But you can only export scripts from the

library not the board.  Maybe I can't do this with a script.

I did export a library script, but still digging through to see if it's

possible to use elsewhere.

There is an ULP that exports a board as a script.

However, it's no problem to just generate a script manually. First, set

up the required parameters with the LAYER and CHANGE commands, then use

the POLYGON command to draw the polygon:

LAYER TOP;   (CHANGE LAYER would also work)

CHANGE THERMALS on/off;

CHANGE ORPHANS on/off;

CHANGE ISOLATE xxx;

CHANGE POUR solid/hatched;

CHANGE RANK xxx;

CHANGE SPACING xxx;

POLYGON width 'name' (x y) (x y) (x y) (x y) ... (x y);

If you don't draw only straight orthogonal lines, you might also use

SET WIRE_BEND xxx;

MITER xxx;

before applying the POLYGON command.

And yes, all that can be taken from the HELP POLYGON information (that

also links to the CHANGE command, where the parameters for modifying

polygons are clearly listed, and to SET and MITER).
