How to tranfer changed component values from one design to another?

eduardodemier
eduardodemier over 9 years ago

I have two version of a design. V0 and V1. They are originally

identical. The number and type of all components is the same. Routing is

different.

V0 is in production and during tests some values have changed.

V1 is not yet in production. The routing has been improved.

How do copy the chenged values from V0 to V1?

THanks.

    Hi Eduardo,

    I don't think there is a built in way to automatically copy the updated values between the two versions but there are probably some ways to speed things up and ensure you don't miss any changes. If it were me I would do something like the following:

    1) Open V0 and do File->Export->Partlist

    2) Open V1 and do File->Export->Partlist

    3) Use a diff tool to generate a list of differences between V0 and V1

    4.a) Manually work through the list making the changes in V1 as appropriate

    OR

    4.b) Edit that list of differences to turn them into an EAGLE script file to go through your design and update all the parts.

    OR

    4.c) Write a ULP to take the diff output and generate the EAGLE commands to go through your design and update all the parts.

    Depending on how many changes there were and whether the workflow you use means you may have to do this often would determine which way you go for part 4.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael
