eagle symbol problem, how to fix

twilkers1976
twilkers1976 over 9 years ago

I'm trying to migrate an eagle symbol from 78xx (sparkfun lib) to LD1117 which has a different pinout.  I have relabeled the pins in the part, but the pcb symbol retains the old connections.  I'm very new to the symbol manipulation but have done several boards.  I tried to attach sch and brd files but this was disallowed.

in the device, there is no pin number associated with each pin, so the connect operation is a bit blind.

how do I fix this?

thanks,

tim

I'm guessing you forgot to do a LIBRARY > UPDATE_ALL in the schematic.

I did forget that, but tried it now.  Closed and reopened eagle.  Same trouble.  Would you have a further suggestion?

Have you add a new technology to the device?

so it may help to "change technology" in the schematic

    HI,

Not a bad option to build a component from scratch.  Remember you only need to edit the Pin names, then create a brand new device using the edited Symbol and exiting package.
    I hope this helps!!
    Regards,
    E
